Hampi (Kannada: ಹಂಪಿ) a World Heritage Center, is located in Bellary District of the Karnataka state, India, on the bank of the River Tunga Bhadra. It is located within the ruins of Vijayanagara, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. This town the capital of Vijayanagara Empire was built in the 14th century.
